Attendance is considered mandatory but will not be checked. Absence should not be justified (I don’t care about your reasons). But it is assumed that an absent student will manage to get all relevant information from their peers. This can be done over the communications channels of the course.
Rules of attendance
Students are highly encouraged to take notes using real paper. Screens are mainly a source of distraction.
Phones are tablet should be put in airplane mode during the course.

In fact, the mere presence of your smartphone, even in airplane mode, is enough to significantely reduce your IQ.

If taking note on a laptop, the laptop should preferably run the Open Source OS (see assignments) and wifi should be switched off.
Notes should be taken locally in a simple file editor (no, seriously, nobody needs your fancy connected Drive that requires 2Go of RAM and takes half second between a keypress and updating the screen). Remember that using a command-line editor should be part of the course.
During the break, it is highly encouraged to stand up and to go outside for fresh air, to move your body to give oxygene to your brain (oxygene, not nicotine, which is not allowed near the building anyway).
